American Heart Association Bloodborne Pathogens Course - 2 Year Certification

This American Heart Association course is a classroom-based training that teaches students how to protect themselves and others from being exposed to blood or blood-containing materials. The class complies with all federal (OSHA) requirements for Bloodborne pathogens training when paired with site-specific instruction.

The Heartsaver® Bloodborne Pathogens Course is designed for anyone with a reasonable chance of coming into contact with Bloodborne pathogens such as:

Intended for licensed and non-licensed healthcare professionals.  The course completion card for the online course is identical to the card for the classroom course.

There are TWO parts to the BLS Provider Online with Skill Check course:

  1. Part 1 at your home or office: Online simulation and written test completion (0.5 to 2 hours)
  2. Part 2 at one of our regularly scheduled classes: Manikin practice and skills testing (15 - 20 minutes)  This session normally begins 30-minutes prior to one of our classroom-based courses--May be scheduled now or you may call to schedule after completing the course.

Online Duration: 1 hour

**Site specific instruction is required for the course in order to meet OSHA requirements. SureFire CPR does not provide this training, it is conducted by someone who is familiar with the company's exposure control plan. (This training usually takes between 5 minutes and 1 hour.)       Airway Management is a unique program designed to give students the chance to learn, practice and demonstrate their ability in applying many airway skills used in resuscitation.       The American Red Cross is introducing the newly revised Wilderness and Remote First Aid program. This program is designed to teach individuals how to deal with emergency situations by using first aid skills in a delayed-help environment. The program is based on the 2010 Boy Scouts of America (BSA) Wilderness First Aid Curriculum and Doctrine Guidelines and offers enhanced content and topics to meet OSHA’s Best Practices for Workplace First Aid Training Programs and has been updated to reflect the latest emergency cardiovascular care science.

      The Wilderness and Remote First Aid program is appropriate for audiences from youth-serving organizations as well as adults who participate in outdoor recreational activities or who work in wilderness or remote settings where emergency medical services (EMS) response is more than 1 hour away. The Wilderness and Remote First Aid program emphasizes experiential learning and major portions of the course are meant to be taught in outdoor settings. The program content has been revised to encompass ECCU 2015 and current guidelines by the American Red Cross Scientific Advisory Council. Features of the New Program The program artwork including the skill sheet has been revised. Skill sheets now match the content found within the First Aid/CPR/AED participant materials.

      This expert-level program from the American Safety & Health Institute helps keep healthcare professionals prepared and ready to respond as they encounter life-threatening emergencies, provide basic life support, and respond to choking and other airway obstruction incidents. ASHI’s CPR Pro for the Professional Rescuer has been approved for training for Emergency Medical Services personnel and is accepted by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).

      ASHI Emergency Oxygen Administration   – 2 YEAR CERTIFICATION

      Serious and life-threatening medical emergencies often cause oxygen to be depleted in the body leaving the victim at risk for shock. The ASHI Emergency Oxygen program focuses on administering emergency oxygen to breathing and non-breathing persons, emergency oxygen delivery systems, and integrating pulse oximetry

      Participants will learn how to:

      ASHI Wilderness First- Aid – 3 YEAR CERTIFICATION

      Wilderness environments create special situations not usually encountered in an urban or suburban environment. With ASHI’s Wilderness First Aid, Instructors certified to teach CPR/AED, basic first aid, and have wilderness experience can take advantage of ASHI’s flexible instructional design.

      This comprehensive 16-20 hour course meets the Boy Scouts of America Wilderness First Aid curriculum and guidelines.

      Participants will learn:

      • Preparation and Assessment of Wilderness Emergencies
      • Preventing and Caring for Injuries
      • Environmental Hazards
      • Biological Hazards
      • Medical Emergencies

      Certification Period: up to 3 years (recommended every 2 years)

      Coaching Systems CEVO 4 Ambulance/Fire Instructor Development Course (Classroom/Lecture)

      Coaching the Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO) 4: AMBULANCE promotes critical thinking during high-pressure driving situations and offers defensive driving strategies to avoid collisions. The course trains emergency vehicle drivers how to navigate through traffic safely in both emergency and non-emergency situations and features videos with ambulance driver simulations followed by group discussions.

      What participants will learn

      Throughout the 6-hour course, participants will learn defensive driving techniques to maneuver safely through traffic under severe time constraints and stress. Topics include handling blind spots, cushion of safety, navigating through intersections, proper ways to pass and change lanes, backing and parking safely, avoiding tailgaters and improving driver reaction time.

      Course Description

      DDC Attitudinal Dynamics of Driving is recommended most often for drivers with multiple traffic violations and those with poor driving behaviors who need a catalyst for positive change.

      National Safety Council – Defensive Driving 4 - Hour Instructor Development Course

       

      DDC 4, an instructor-led classroom course, re-educates numerous key fundamental driving skills and motivates drivers to change their behind-the-wheel behaviors and attitudes.   It will give participants the basic understanding, skills and techniques to avoid collisions and reduce future violations. Vital content on distracted driving and other trending safety issues are addressed. Available in English and Spanish.

       

      Only NSC DDC 4 certified instructors affiliated with an authorized DDC Training Center may teach DDC 4 (DDC 8/6, DDC Professional Truck Driver and Alive at 25 Instructor Courses Available)

      About the Instructor Course

      The National Safety Council trains instructors to teach DDC 4 through our 2-day Instructor Course.

      During the Instructor Course you’ll gain the confidence and knowledge to become an effective instructor. This course provides both the technical information you will need to teach DDC 4 as well as effective facilitation methods and presentation techniques. Our instructor trainers will show candidate instructors how to determine the needs of the audience, improve classroom participation and interaction, handle objections, and use activities effectively.

      National Safety Council – Forklift Safety Instructor Development Course

       

      Learn how to train your lift truck operators for safe operation and meet OSHA requirements. Our one-day classroom course teaches candidate instructors how to develop and deliver complete in-house training programs, design exercises for staff evaluations, and instruct non-operators how to work safely around lift trucks. Take the course at an NSC training center, or we can train onsite at your location.

      The purpose of the American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers program is to train professional-level rescuers to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants until more advanced medical personnel take over.
